Forgiveness & Conflict Resolution Workshop

Healing Hearts and Restoring Relationships: Hillside Hope Leads Forgiveness & Conflict Resolution Training in Rusororo

Rusororo, Gasabo District – A powerful two-day training on forgiveness and biblical conflict resolution, organized by Hillside Hope, recently brought together 50 passionate Christian youth, men, and women in Rusororo, Gasabo District. The gathering aimed to strengthen unity, heal broken relationships, and equip believers with practical, Scripture-based tools to resolve conflicts in a godly way.

The event highlighted the urgent need for genuine reconciliation in homes, churches, and communities, reminding participants that unresolved pain can have devastating consequences if left unaddressed.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Supporters

Hillside Hope extends deep gratitude to its faithful members who generously provided snacks and drinks throughout the training. Participants covered their own transportation costs, demonstrating their commitment to personal and spiritual growth. This partnership between supporters and attendees continues to make these transformative workshops possible.

Interactive Sessions Rooted in Scripture

Over the two days, facilitators guided participants through teachings on cultivating a forgiving heart, restoring damaged relationships, and understanding the dangers of harboring grudges. The sessions blended solid biblical teaching with real-life examples and lively group discussions, creating an atmosphere of openness and learning.

One particularly impactful group discussion explored a common scenario: two people claiming to have “forgiven” each other after a long-standing conflict, yet never actually talking through the issue or pursuing true reconciliation.

The group’s insights were eye-opening:

  • Conflicts stay unresolved when the real problem is avoided.
  • Pretending everything is fine often destroys relationships and can even lead people to leave their church to escape the tension.
  • In extreme cases, deep emotional wounds from unresolved conflict can lead to hopelessness and suicidal thoughts – underscoring the life-or-death importance of biblical reconciliation.
  • True healing only comes through honest conversation, confession, and mutual forgiveness.

Participants agreed that silence or avoidance can never replace the intentional, prayerful engagement required for genuine biblical reconciliation.

Lasting Spiritual Impact

Testimonies poured in as lives were touched and perspectives shifted. Attendees left with:

  • A deeper scriptural understanding of resolving conflict God’s way.
  • Practical tools to preserve relationships, seek confession, and rebuild trust (Proverbs 17:16; 1 Peter 4:8).
  • Renewed awareness of Jesus’ direct teaching in Matthew 18:15–16 and Matthew 5:23–24 on addressing conflict promptly and humbly.
  • Fresh commitment to let go of grudges and actively restore broken relationships.

Many expressed a strong hunger for more – and longer – trainings in the future.

Prayer Requests Moving Forward

Participants and organizers invite the wider body of Christ to join in prayer for:

  • Financial provision to expand these workshops across Rwanda.
  • Future sessions to be extended beyond two days, allowing deeper reflection and hands-on practice.

A Thankful Conclusion

Hillside Hope gives all glory to Almighty God for the success of this training and the visible transformation in participants’ hearts. We believe the ripple effects will bring lasting peace to families, churches, and entire communities.

May the Lord richly bless every Hillside Hope member for your prayers, generosity, and unwavering dedication to seeing hearts healed and relationships restored through the power of biblical forgiveness.
