Our Story
It has been estimated that less than five percent of Rwandan pastors acquired any formal theological foundation. The lack of theological training has led to poorly equipped Rwandan pastors to lead and disciple their existing congregations. As a result, Hillside Hope was born to help pastors acquire theological education through trainings, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Hillside Hope exists to advance theological education and empower church leaders to be instruments of peace-building and community transformation.

Our Core Values
Honoring God through prayer, integrity and serving those suffering from poverty and injustice as part of God's plan to redeem, reconcile, and restore the world. Faithful in our stewardship of the people, talents, gifts, and resources that God entrusts us with. Trustworthy as servants of the Lord in word, deed, and conduct.
"I am because of you" - Ubuntu is an ethic or humanist philosophy focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other. In Kinyarwanda, the mother tongue in Rwanda, ubuntu means 'human generosity' as well as humanity. In Rwandan society it is common for people to exhort or appeal to others to "gira ubuntu" meaning to "have consideration and be humane" towards others.
Our desire is to serve the vulnerable in communities, those living in poverty without a hope for their future. Through our interactions, we will show them that their hope lies in Jesus Christ, our chief Advocate (1 John 2:1).
We emphasize on promoting collaboration and facilitating donors including local government, the worldwide church, mission agencies, individuals, other NGO's, and the business community, knowing that partnership is the key to have the community holistically transformed.
In good governance, we emphasize participatory, consensus-orientated, accountable, transparent, openness, effective and efficient practices in all our operations and decision-making processes.
